Ali leads Guy Carpenter’s efforts in Cyber Risk Intelligence for UK & International after he joined the
company through the JLT Re acquisition in 2019. The focus of his role is to support the global firm strategy
with regards to cyber catastrophe model utilisation to improve understanding of the cyber peril within (re)
insurance companies. This also involves providing clients with bespoke cyber catastrophe scenario R&D
through active threat intelligence assessments as well as post-event response and support.

Ali graduated from the University of Surrey with a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics with Statistics in 2014,
before later completing a MSc in Insurance and Risk Management at Cass Business School in 2018.
Ali then progressed to become an associate at the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII), gaining his
accreditation in 2020 with certification in London Market Insurance Specialisation. He is currently working
Mr. Afsar ALI towards a MSc in Cyber Security and Management at University of Warwick.
