INTERVENANT

As the former Treasurer/current Regional Representative of GFIA, he has contributed to the enhanced
international presence among key stakeholders by leveraging his experience/expertise to strengthen the
relationship between top government officials and GFIA during Japan’s G20 Presidency/Insurance Forum
Japan 2019, as well as the 2023 IAIS and GFIA Tokyo Annual Conferences.

He joined the LIAJ in April 2016 after a devoted career in public service for 40 years. Prior to the LIAJ, he
served as the Cabinet Secretariat for 6 years, and was the Assistant Chief Cabinet Secretary for domestic
affairs from 2010 to 2013, as well as the Chief Domestic Coordinator for the Trans-Pacific Strategic
Economic Partnership Agreement (TPP) from 2013 to 2016.

Mr. Toyonari SASAKI He has a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Tokyo and a Master’s in Public Affairs from the Princeton
School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University.
