Mr. Alaa El Zoheiry is the managing director of GIG Egypt and has been in the insurance market for more
than 32 years.

He was appointed president of the Federation of Afro-Asian Insurer & Reinsurers in 2021 and now is
the Vice Chairman. He holds a number of positions in various organisations including chairman of the
Insurance Federation of Egypt, chairman of the Insurance Committee at the American Chamber of
Commerce in Egypt. board member of Gulf Sigorta – Türkiye, vice chairman of Egyptian Takaful –Life/gig
since 2011 and board member of GIG - Jordan. Mr. El Zoheiry was chosen as the ‘best insurance man’
in Egypt in 2014. He was ‘personality of the year’ at the 2017 Middle East Insurance Industry Awards and
was awarded ‘professional of the year at the 2021 MENAIR Awards and ‘best CEO in Africa’ award by the
Mr. Alaa Africa Insurance Organisation.
