                                                Richard Weurding (1961) studied Dutch Law from 1980 - 1985 at the University of Leiden. In 1987 he joined
                                                the Dutch Association of Insurers. As a policy advisor, he was responsible for social affairs of the insurance
                                                sector, legal expenses insurance, fraud and general non-life insurance. Between 1993 - 1997 he was
                                                executive secretary and as such closely involved in several innovation projects within the organisation. He
                                                was also secretary of the board of the Dutch Association of Insurers. From 1997, Richard was manager of
                                                the Non-Life department and the department of General Policy Affairs. Since May 2000 he is part of the
                                                management board of the Association and from March 1, 2006 Richard Weurding is director general of the
                                                Dutch Association of Insurers.

                                                Richard is also member of the general board of the Dutch Employers Federation, member of the Social
                                                Economic Council, and member of the Executive Committee of Insurance Europe.
